MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hello fellow Toastmasters,

I hope this September is finding you all happy, healthy and wise.  Now that summer is over and school is starting again, life might be all about getting back to our status quos.  And I’m sure we all have interesting travel stories to tell this week, because our theme is “Traveling”.

We are so lucky we have Toastmasters to keep us at the top of our game.  No matter what our business is, we can help each other grow and get better and better with each meeting.  I can really see a difference in myself between when I am able to get to every meeting versus when I have had to miss a couple of meetings because of work.  Our speaking skills are just like our other muscles.  The more we work them, the stronger they get.

This week I want to  give an especially big Thank You to Loan Carrison, Maisee Lee and Pirhiya Goldstein for their wonderful help at the Area 1 and 2 Humorous Speech Contest and Table Topics Contest.  It was a lot of fun . . . there were some pretty hilarious speeches.  I have to admit, I was busting up several times during the speeches.  I have been to The Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd. and haven’t laughed half as much as I did at our Humorous Speech Contest.

The next level for us will be on October 25th.   If you want a fun morning, you should really be there.

I look forward to seeing all of you on September 11 for our “Traveling” Theme. Warner Center Toastmasters now arriving at Gate Number 32!

Marsha
