CP Collaborates with 'Herr Direktor' on New Film Score It only took one piano solo to capture the imagination of veteran director Ulli Lommel for his new Dolby Stereo HD feature, "Savannah's Ghost". Known affectionately around here as "Herr Direktor", Lommel utilized both romantic and country music elements for the film's tragic and uplifting story, which takes place in Texas, California, and Mexico.
John C Graves' film music has been heard in trailers from Inside Man to Chronicles of Riddick to Bourne Supremacy. And his list of feature scores includes Le Magique, Tokyo Mafia, Sisters of Sin, and Kill or Be Killed. (Check out some of the MP3's here.) In other musical developments, Command Post has recently acquired the rights to one of it's earliest feature scores, "Le Magique". A new CD is in the works at Command Post, "Thirsty Sky, Hungry Shore", consisting of both orchestral and solo piano works. Cartoon Sound Design Brings "The Human Rules" to Life For
ten years, Wes Rogers, otherwise known as "The Amazing
Stickman", has been traveling the nation, entertaining and
educating high school kids with a compelling speech and Powerpoint
presentation called "The Human Rules". "Since schools can't legally give religious instruction, the Human Rules fills a need with an ethical, but secular message," says Wes. The Human Rules uses stick figures as part of it's humanist persona, creating a parallel world of stick people faced with many of the same problems we confront in our human world. Now Wes Rogers has converted his entire production to video DVD and revamped and revised everything from script to visuals to music. The final production consists of artwork which is substantially animated, and a heavy dose of sound design and final mix at Command Post. The final product is a "DVD book". Command Post's extensive cartoon fx libraries were crucial to the audio success of The Human Rules. Diamond Game Spins Forward with new Casino Games Crunch
time again! While you were getting ready to see fireworks this past July
4th, Command Post was working on John Philip Sousa cues, including the
Star Spangled Banner, as part of the
sound design for Diamond Games' newest release, "American
Dream". In fact, Command Post has just designed all sound elements for three new casino games from Diamond Game "Working with Diamond Game is always a fun and creative exercise", remarks sound designer John. "The structure of the games requires sounds for the main spin, bonus spins, bonus intros and outros, reel spin hits, and of course the various symbols which produce their own sounds, varying from three to 5 seconds. You need to pack a lot of sound into a small amount of time." Earlier this year, the entire creative team at Diamond Game went to an Indian Gaming convention at the Palm Springs Convention Center to observe production trends and techniques of the myriad companies in this field.
